Calder Ferro is the working wardrobe of a model, sold piece by piece.
A model’s wardrobe is worn hard and photographed once. Most of it goes back in a bag and is forgotten.
These are the pieces he kept reaching for between shoots: the jacket from the last set, the boots he broke in on location, the belt he never took off. We rebuilt them in small runs so you can wear them for years, not a season.
Why we sell
Fashion moves fast and most of it is made to be replaced. Calder Ferro. is the opposite argument: fewer pieces, made properly, styled the way they were worn on set and off duty. Selling them is how the wardrobe gets to the people who will actually wear it out.
Every drop is small. When a run is gone it is gone, and the next one starts with what we learned from the last.
Worn hard
Everything here is made for daily use: heavy leather, waxed cotton, solid brass. It gets better as it gets marked.
Made small
Short runs, cut and finished by hand, each piece numbered on the inside so you know which one is yours.
Kept, not replaced
Built to be repaired. Re-wax it, re-sole it, tighten it. The idea is one good piece instead of five forgotten ones.
How it is made
Gather
Hides from a single tannery, cotton from a mill that still runs its own looms, brass cast from reclaimed stock. We buy less and buy better.
Make
Leather is cut by hand, cotton is garment dyed in small batches. Brass is sand-cast in runs of twelve.
Finish
Every seam, hinge and hem is closed by hand in the workshop, then numbered on the inside where only the wearer will find it.
